The presentation of the book “25 leaders who transform technology in Uruguay” by Experis, ManpowerGroup’s brand specializing in technological talent, marked a significant milestone with the prominent presence of leaders from the technological and business fields, including the president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou.
According to Inés Arrospide, country manager of ManpowerGroup, “Technology in Uruguay is at a key moment in its development, and this book reflects the talent and innovation that exist in our country.”
This statement highlights the recognition of the potential and creativity present in the Uruguayan technology sector.
Mónica Flores, president of ManpowerGroup for Latin America, highlighted the importance of the president’s presence during the event, highlighting that “it is a reflection of the country’s commitment to technological development and to the creation of a favorable environment for innovation and growth.”
The book includes interviews with 25 technology leaders, including CTO and CEO of emblematic companies such as Microsoft, dLocal, Globant, IBM, Ceibal, Mercado Libre, PedidosYa, INFOCORP, GeneXus and ZONAMERICA.
Through these interviews, technology leaders share reflections and perspectives on key issues in the sector, such as the shortage of IT talent, technological advances, artificial intelligence and the inclusion of women in the IT field.
The initiative had the strategic support of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (Cuti), IT Builders and Uruguay XXI, the agency for the promotion of investments, exports and country image.
In addition, the book includes the testimony of Carlos Acle, former president of Cuti, and Alejandro Ferrari, Investment and Aftercare Manager of Uruguay XXI, who provided their vision on the development and future of the IT sector in Uruguay.
Alejandro Ferrari stressed that “Uruguay is a reliable country to do business in”, stressing that “The ICT industry has led the flow of foreign direct investment in recent years, attracting international companies that decide to operate and grow from Uruguay. In addition, it has increased the flow of regional talent, from founders to highly qualified technicians who choose to live in our country.”
This event and the book reflect Uruguay’s commitment and continued growth in the technology sector, cementing its reputation as an innovative and attractive hub for investments in the region.
